About Me

My Journey to Healing

I’m Julie – a wellness coach, yoga teacher and breathwork guide, but also a woman who knows what it means to start again. My journey into healing came from a place of darkness, and every practice I now share is something I’ve tried, tested and lived through myself.

I come from an ultramarathon and trail running background and have run 84 marathons in total. Pushing my body to the limit became a way of coping, of processing emotion, and of proving to myself that I could keep going, no matter what. My biggest challenge was the Essex 100-miler – 106 miles non-stop, run as a loop course over 25 hours. I didn’t stop, and I didn’t give up. Instead of a medal, I earned a traditional buckle to honour the original American 100-mile races, first completed on horseback. That race taught me that endurance isn’t just physical – it’s emotional, mental and spiritual. Every mile became a meditation. Every loop, a lesson in resilience.

Running was more than a sport for me. It was a lifeline. I once channelled all my energy into it, even starting a local women’s running club that grew to over 800 members in just a few months. The power of community, movement and shared purpose became clear. But over time, I began to understand that true strength isn’t just in speed or distance. It’s in the breath, in stillness, in sound, in connection.

That’s what Feeling the Healing is about – creating spaces where you can feel, move and heal at your own pace, in your own way. I don’t believe in pressure or perfection. I believe in showing up exactly as you are and letting the healing happen from there. Everything I teach comes from lived experience – from the darkness, from the miles, from the breath, from the heart.
